Trade businesses use TradieRates to measure sites, price work and prepare quotes and proposals. TradieRates is software provided by Dynamic Global Group (a sole trader business in Perth, Western Australia). This policy explains what information is kept in TradieRates, why, where it is stored, who can see it, and how to ask about it.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Who is responsible
- The business decides what information it collects about its own customers and what it is used for. Questions about a quote, a site visit or a proposal from the business should go to the business first.
- Dynamic Global Group provides and looks after the software and the systems it runs on, and can help with any privacy question: joseph@dynamicglobal.com.au.
What is kept
About the business's customers
- Name, site address, phone number and email address.
- Site visit details: measurements, notes and photos of the property.
- Quotes and proposals prepared for the customer, and whether they were accepted.
About the people who use TradieRates at the business
- Name, email address and their role (owner, admin, quoter or site visits).
- When records were created or changed, so work stays in sync between phones and computers.
About the business's subscription
- Billing name, email and subscription history. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure page and are never seen or stored by TradieRates.
TradieRates does not use advertising cookies or tracking, and does not sell or rent anyone's information.
Why it is kept
- To measure and price work, and to prepare and send quotes and proposals.
- To keep the business's team working from the same, up-to-date information.
- To send accepted work to the business's job management app when the business chooses to.
- To bill the business for its TradieRates subscription.
- To provide support and keep the system secure.
Where it is stored and who else is involved
TradieRates uses these service providers, only for the purposes above:
- Supabase: the database, sign-in and photo storage, hosted in Sydney, Australia.
- Cloudflare: delivers the TradieRates web pages, and stores a nightly backup copy of the database and photos (encrypted, in the Oceania region) so information can be recovered if something goes wrong.
- Stripe: takes subscription payments and holds card details.
- Jobber: receives quotes only when the business connects it and chooses to send one.
- Google Fonts: supplies the lettering used on the pages.
- Sentry: receives a report when something breaks in the app (the error, the page and the business, but no customer details), so it can be fixed.
- Resend: sends TradieRates emails, such as password resets and invites.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia (for example in the United States or Canada). They are required to protect it.
Parts of TradieRates also keep a copy on the phone or computer being used, so site visits work without signal. That copy is uploaded when there is signal. It stays on the device until the browser's saved data is cleared, so work that hasn't uploaded yet is never lost; use a device you trust.
Who can see it
- Only people at the business who have been given a login. Each business's information is kept separate from every other business that uses TradieRates.
- Site-visit logins see site visits only, not prices or quotes.
- Dynamic Global Group can view a business's information only to set up, support, fix or secure TradieRates and keep it running. This needs a TradieRates admin login, is look-only unless a fix is needed, and every time is logged — the business owner can ask to see that log.
- We will disclose information if the law requires it.
How it is protected
- Information is sent over encrypted connections, and each business can only reach its own records.
- Photos are stored privately and are shown only to signed-in users of that business.
- Connections to other apps (such as Jobber) are stored encrypted.
How long it is kept
- While the business uses TradieRates, its information is kept so past quotes and site visits can be looked up.
- If the business stops using TradieRates, its information is kept for 90 days (so it can pick up where it left off) and then deleted, except where the law requires records to be kept for longer (for example tax invoices).
- A business can ask for a customer's information to be deleted sooner.
- Backup copies are kept for 30 days, so information that is deleted is also gone from the backups within 30 days.
Seeing, correcting or deleting information
Anyone can ask to see the information held about them, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Ask the business directly, or email joseph@dynamicglobal.com.au. We will reply within 30 days.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please email joseph@dynamicglobal.com.au and we will look into it and reply within 30 days. If you are still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
